I've been a member for a couple of years and really enjoy the discounts. I tend to buy hardcover books right after they come out so the savings can be big.

I tried to cancel 2 orders that were not yet in the shipping process. B & N.com would not let me cancel either, and rushed one order into the shipping process days ahead of time. I was told I had to wait for the orders to be delivered, and then return them! Either within 10 business days (what customer service said) or 2 billing cycles (what the website says) - I will get my money back. Money, that they had ample time not to take in the first place! Now that B & N has paid 4X to have the unwanted items shipped back and forth across the country, they can't tell me if any of the items I have returned have been received. Apparently, the location and contact information for the NJ warehouse are classified. Not even the customer service reps know what they are! I will never buy anything from this company again. Borders is cheaper, and you can check the inventory online for their brick and mortar stores!

While the prices on Barnes & Noble aren't always as good as Amazon, the shipping can't be beat. If you order $25 or more, they ship for free via UPS!
